Weather & Setup Planning

Indoor Setups Are Recommended

Indoor setups are the best option for mini golf, especially across Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Canandaigua, and the surrounding Finger Lakes region where weather can be unpredictable. If you are planning an outdoor event, the course needs to be placed under proper cover from a professionally rented tent, with an indoor backup location if rain is possible. EZ-up canopies and other non-professional tents do not qualify as approved cover.

Because the holes include electronics and batteries, they cannot be exposed to rain. Proper cover protects the equipment and helps ensure guests are comfortable and willing to participate.

The course weighs approximately 400-500 lbs in total and is delivered and moved using a cart, so carrying it by hand over long distances or up stairs is not an option. The setup location needs level access, with a ramp available if there is any step up into the building. Please let us know ahead of time about stairs or ramp access between the entrance and your setup spot so we can plan the best route in.

Mini Golf Rental FAQ

How much does mini golf rental cost in Rochester, NY?

Pricing depends on the number of holes, location, and event duration. We offer layouts from 1 hole to 9 holes. We regularly serve Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Canandaigua, the Finger Lakes, and surrounding areas. Travel fees are applied for events outside 60 miles from the 14612 zip code. Contact us for a customized price based on your event.

Can you set up mini golf indoors?

Yes. Our portable mini golf can be set up indoors or outdoors. We work with venues of all sizes to make sure the course fits perfectly and looks great. Outdoor setups require cover from a professionally rented tent (EZ-up canopies and other non-professional tents are not approved). The course weighs approximately 400-500 lbs in total and is moved by cart, so we also need level access with a ramp available if there is any step up into the building. Please let us know about any stairs between the setup spot and entrance so we can plan accordingly.

Do you offer wedding-themed mini golf?

Absolutely. We can design a "Perfect Par" wedding mini golf experience with themed obstacles for the newlyweds. It's a fun icebreaker, a unique photo opportunity, and a detail your guests will talk about long after the reception.

Is your mini golf ADA accessible?

Yes. We provide ADA-friendly putters and design our course to be as accessible as possible so all guests can participate.

How much space do I need for mini golf?

Space needs depend on the number of holes. As a general guide, plan on roughly 8-10 feet of length per hole plus a few feet of clearance around the course for guests to move comfortably. A 1-hole setup can fit in a small lobby or cocktail area, while a 6- or 9-hole course works best in a larger room, hall, or covered outdoor space. The course does not need to fit into one perfect square room. Our team can get creative and route it around the perimeter of a space or spread it across multiple rooms in your venue for a mini golf adventure that keeps guests moving and mingling. Contact us and we'll help you figure out the best layout for your venue.

Do you provide someone to run the course?

Yes. You can add our optional ROC'n Caddy: a friendly host who guides play, keeps the area clean, and ensures everything runs smoothly.

What happens if there's bad weather in the forecast?

In our experience, most guests will not stick around to play if the weather turns bad, so we strongly recommend setting up indoors whenever possible. If your event is outdoors, please plan for cover from a professionally rented tent (EZ-up canopies and other non-professional tents are not approved) or an indoor backup location.

Setup can take up to an hour depending on the layout, so the course is not something that can be quickly relocated once it's in place. It's best to plan for a safe area free from the elements from the start rather than relying on a last-minute move if rain starts. Any weather-related decision needs to be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled start time so we can plan accordingly.

We will do everything in our power to run your event as scheduled, but protecting our equipment is our priority. We reserve the right to cancel if rain is in the forecast and a suitable backup location is not confirmed within that 24-hour window.
